Continuous Line Self-Portraits

As a way of exploring my own identity and situating myself in my surroundings I created self-portraits. I’m undecided on whether to include these self-portraits in my work for this project but it was worth testing it out to see whether it’s suitable.

I created continuous line self-portraits, where I looked into my mirror while redrawing my face in a continuous line where the pen doesn’t leave the paper until it’s finished; without looking at what I’ve drawn. This allowed me to recreate my portrait from the same reference, each time depicting a different outcome thus deconstructing my identity and reconstructing it blindly.
